felicity bae. september 25, 1990 (24). manager at literati books / lyft driver / freelance journalist. Edgewater, New Jersey ann arbor, michigan. kellogg's lofts. libra & ISFP. single.

✖ Born the morning of September 25, 1990 Felicity was the third and last child born to the Bae family. The rest of the family compromised of Dawon (b. 1960) and Linda (b. 1961), high school sweethearts who ran a dry cleaning business as well as Nora (b. 1985) and Finn (b. 1988). As second generation Americans, the Bae children were fairly removed from their Korean roots, Felicity most of all.

✖ School came fairly easy to Felicity, even at a young age -- by the time she reached kindergarten, she was the only girl in her class who came in knowing how to read already. The problem was never that she was a stupid kid. Unfortunately, being that her studies did not present much of a challenge, Felicity was often bored and her grades were middling. Ironically, too middling to be accepted to any gifted and talented program that could have helped challenge her.

✖ As Felicity grew older, she became a very gregarious and outgoing girl and drifted easily among different groups and through school activities. However, her true niche lay with writing and she eventually worked her way up to the editor in chief of the Leonia High School newspaper. When it came time to think about college, she considered schools with strong journalism or communication programs, at the suggestion of her guidance counselor. She also did her best to cast a net out of Jersey -- her parents certainly had the money to pay for out of state tuition and she definitely had no desire to live the rest of her life in the Garden State.

✖ Rejected from her dream school (NYU), Felicity eventually ended up attending the University of Michigan after she visited the campus and fell 'in like' with Ann Arbor. She graduated in the class of 2013 with a B.A. in communications, no small amount of student debt and like many people in her generation and field, with limited job prospects. However, she has no desire to return back to NJ, especially when hearing her mom nag her on the phone once a week to find a career or look for better job prospects is already bad enough. Since Felicity has worked since high school, landing a job has never been all that difficult and she currently works as a manager at Literati Books, and picks up secondary income driving for Lyft or writing freelance articles when she can.

✖ An avowed animal lover, Felicity was hauling in stray animals as soon as her little arms could carry them and at one point during her time at UMich, she was caught with a cat hiding in her dorm and fined accordingly. Currently, all Felicity has is Neil Degrasse Pawson, but hell if she doesn't try to pressure her roommate into taking in every stray she sees hanging around the building or the bookstore.

✖ First dyed her hair a soft bubblegum pink in high school, but swiftly got in trouble with the administration for it. However, when Felicity graduated, she was free to begin dyeing her hair with much more frequency; tends to favor pastel colors like pinks and purples or a rainbow. On occasion, she helps her friends dye their hair too, and briefly considered going to cosmetology school when her job prospects looked grim, but deep down Felicity knows that would depress her.

✖ Allergic to both peanuts and shellfish, but figures life is far too short to stay away from Reeses Cups and shrimp tacos. Although she doesn't indulge in either very often, she's been known to scarf down two Reeses with her epi pen on hand and is waiting for the day a friend of hers would carry her out in slo-motion a la The Last Supper episode of Broad City.

✖ Definitely an introvert, Felicity prefers small gatherings and low-key events to huge, out of control crowds. Felicity's introversion doesn't make her shy or socially anxious by any means, but she tends to need to decompress after huge social gatherings, such as concerts (which she attends with some frequency) and will take 2-3 days of recovery where she stays in and watches Netflix. She also hates the feeling of being drunk, but enjoys smoking up -- which may or may be unrelated, she isn't sure.

✖ When Felicity was a child, her parents would take her into New York on or around her birthday for a trip to the American Museum of Natural History -- specifically to visit the planetarium, as she was deeply fascinated with space and always asked to go. No matter what else they did to celebrate or what parties they threw, she always insisted on being taken to the planetarium as well. Although that ritual ended as she got older, Felicity always makes time to visit the museum when she's back in Jersey.

✖ Essentially, Felicity has a Type B personality. Although there are things she cares greatly for, and has been known to lose her temper after a slow burn build of anger, she tends to go with the flow, enjoy things as they come, and although there have been times where she has enjoyed the work she's doing (ie, writing for the paper at school or hosting the book club at Literati), she does not necessarily put as much emphasis on getting enjoyment from work as she realizes she can get happiness elsewhere and in other things.
Kellogg's Lofts. I'm always a slut for a good industrial aesthetic.

I've been living here a few years? Like, .......... wow, like four years, I think. Three years? A number of years that was not one or two but less than the full six I've been living in Michigan.

OK is this a "where are you from" or a "no, but really, where are you from"? I'm from New Jersey, Edgewater to be exact. If I'd gotten into NYU, like I dreamed, I'd be living in New York now probably but this is nice, too.

To Ann Arbor? Because UMich let me in and NYU didn't. To Kellogg's? Because I'm always a slut for an industrial aesthetic.

With my cool roommate, Reesie, and my cat.

Oh, I just realized this follows like a who/what/where/when/why line of questioning! Because I was like what the hell kind of question is this, I'm not a bad neighbor, I'm not an ANIMAL.
